Electronic Data
Interchange

Our EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) platform 'supply connector' ensures smooth communication with your customers, suppliers and logistics subcontractors providing external storage or transport. Thanks to our generic setup, we quickly connect you with your partners and simplify all communications.

For businesses who:

  • Want to exchange order forms, delivery notes, invoices, etc. electronically with their trading partners (order-to-cash/procure-to-pay)
  • Want to share inventory reports, picking or transport instructions, etc. with their carriers or external warehouses electronically, thereby working faster, with fewer errors and, therefore, more productively (through automatic instead of manual entry)

What does it do?

  • Connects partners' IT systems based on different transport protocols (AS2, FTP, HTTP, etc.) *
  • If necessary, translates business documents from the software's internal format to standard formats (from GS1, Odette, Peppol, etc.) with different syntaxes (EDIFACT, X12, UBL, etc.)
  • Visualizes and archives message streams

* For businesses where direct integration is not possible, we also offer a Vendor/Client Portal.

Are you ready for Peppol?

C&W Logistics has been operating as an EDI provider for more than a decade, in addition to being a supplier of logistics software. Since 2022, we have also served as a PEPPOL Access Point. This means we can help you transition to electronic invoicing. A necessary step given the legal obligation that comes into effect starting January 1, 2026. From that point on, all B2B invoices must be sent and received via PEPPOL.

What is PEPPOL?

PEPPOL is primarily known as a standard for electronic invoicing that is becoming increasingly used in Belgium. It was originally mandated for government suppliers. As of 2026, this obligation will also apply to B2B transactions. This means that companies will have to send their invoices in PEPPOL-BIS format via the PEPPOL network.

What is less known is that PEPPOL standard formats also exist for other business documents from the order-to-cash/procure-to-pay process. This means multiple commercial, logistics and financial documents can be exchanged over the PEPPOL network.

There is also an incubation project to use PEPPOL for logistics applications as well. This will allow businesses to exchange electronic documents with logistics subcontractors performing transportation and/or warehouse activities on their behalf.

Impact on businesses already using EDI

For businesses who have been exchanging electronic invoices with trading partners from their own industry using other standard formats for many years, the transition to PEPPOL may require some adjustment. While there is room to deviate from the PEPPOL format in some cases, these deviations need to comply with strict rules.

Even with exceptions, it is clear that PEPPOL is the future, especially given the need for a uniform format that can be used across all industries.
